Acupuncture Assistant Certification Program

For Future Assistants & Acupuncture Clinics

Start a meaningful career in natural medicine — or train your clinic team with confidence.

A comprehensive hybrid training program designed to support Arizona acupuncture practices and the next generation of clinical support staff.

Acupuncture Assistant Certification Program

A hybrid training program for students entering the field of acupuncture and for licensed acupuncturists seeking to train clinic staff through structured online coursework, clinical skills training, observation, and internship experience.

About the Course

Step into the world of natural medicine through practical, real-world training designed for immediate application in an acupuncture clinic.

The Acupuncture Assistant Certification Program is a comprehensive 110-credit-hour hybrid training designed to prepare students to confidently and competently support licensed acupuncturists in a modern clinical setting. The program is designed to meet and exceed Arizona’s Acupuncture Assistant training standards, providing a more robust foundation than the state minimum.

This program was created to meet a growing need in healthcare. As patient demand for acupuncture and integrative medicine continues to increase, clinics need skilled, knowledgeable support staff who understand patient care, safety, professionalism, and clinical workflow.

For students, this program offers a clear pathway into Asian Medicine and integrative healthcare. For licensed acupuncturists and clinic owners, it provides a structured training solution for current staff, new hires, front desk team members, or back office support staff who would benefit from formal acupuncture assistant education.

Grounded in both Eastern medical theory and Western clinical standards, the curriculum integrates online coursework, hands-on clinical skills training, observation hours, and supervised internship experience. Students are introduced to foundational principles of Asian Medicine, organ systems, channel theory, frequently used acupuncture points, infection control, patient communication, documentation, needle removal, herbal preparation, and adjunctive therapies such as cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, and heat therapy.

Students may complete the in-person portion at Envision Wellness or, when appropriate, through a participating clinic closer to home. For clinic-based training, in-person course materials may be provided to the supervising clinic so the hands-on portion can be taught on site, and observation and internship hours may be completed within the clinic’s own setting under appropriate supervision.

Throughout the program, students receive guidance from experienced practitioners, including Dr. Julie Armstrong, DACM, LAc, MSBME, MSOM — Founder of Envision Wellness, Envision Wellness Academy, and a recognized leader in integrative and Asian medicine.

By the end of the program, students will be prepared to support safe, professional, and efficient patient care in a licensed acupuncture practice.

Start your journey into Asian Medicine and integrative healthcare — or strengthen your clinic team with structured acupuncture assistant training.
